Youth Academy
TW Royals VC, in partnership with Tunbridge Wells Borough Council and several Primary Schools in the local area, established a Youth Academy project back in 2016 with the idea of promoting Volleyball amongst a wide spectrum of society.
It provides a healthy and an encouraging environment where young athletes develop their Volleyball skills to their highest potential as well as learning the fundamental values of teamwork, fair-play and self-discipline.
Besides the Volleyball aspects, the Club gives the opportunity to improve health and wellbeing by utilizing sports as a bridge for holistic development and socializing values.
The Club's main belief is that a team is built and not assembled. With this in mind, it is only obvious that the Academy is given utmost importance.
The obvious success and satisfaction is when these young ones progress through the channels and ultimately end up playing professionally in the future. The Club currently boasts a good number of young athletes with ages ranging from 6 to 12 and plans on expanding this range in the future by establishing U14 and U16 teams.
The training is very much a fun based program and is overseen by a group of qualified coaches and volunteering parents. Sessions are held every Tuesday and Thursday between 5.30pm and 7pm.
During the Summer holidays, between July and August, the Club hosts outdoor friendly tournaments every Sunday in the idyllic scenery of Dunorlan Park. This is a great opportunity for the children to play their favourite sport whilst making new friends and enjoying open air activity.
